What Is It?

The Hard Night Guard is a rigid acrylic full-arch splint for moderate-to-severe bruxism. Unlike soft guards, it resists perforation from heavy grinding forces and can be occlusally adjusted for precise contacts.

02

Components

• Hard Acrylic Splint — Heat-cured PMMA, maxillary or mandibular • Flat Occlusal Surface — Even contacts with opposing arch • Full-Arch Coverage — All teeth contacted • Polished Surface — High-gloss for hygiene

03

How It Works

Hard acrylic provides a durable, non-deforming platform that withstands heavy bruxism forces (up to 800N in severe grinders). Unlike soft guards that can be chewed through, the hard surface maintains its shape and protective function for 2-5 years with proper care.

04

Digital Workflow

1. Intraoral scan 2. 3D-print model 3. Wax full-arch splint with flat occlusal plane 4. Ensure even opposing contacts 5. Flask and process with heat-cured PMMA 6. Remount and verify contacts 7. Polish to high gloss 8. QC: Contact evenness, thickness, surface finish

05

Manufacturing Standard

• Acrylic: Heat-cured PMMA (ISO 20795-1) • Minimum occlusal thickness: 2.0mm • Hardness: Rockwell M90-100 • Lifespan: 2-5 years • QC: Contact evenness (shimstock), thickness check, porosity inspection
