The Anterior Bite Plane is an acrylic platform placed behind the maxillary anterior teeth, discluding the posterior teeth. It is used to unlock posterior interferences, allow passive eruption, and test vertical dimension changes.
Components
• Anterior Acrylic Platform — Behind maxillary anteriors only • Adams Clasps — 0.8mm SS on first molars for retention • Labial Bow — 0.7mm SS wire (optional) • No Posterior Coverage — Posterior teeth remain uncovered
How It Works
By creating a flat platform at the anterior, the posterior teeth are separated by 2-4mm. This eliminates posterior occlusal interferences and allows the posterior teeth to erupt passively (or be intruded by occlusal forces). It also allows testing of a new vertical dimension before committing to full rehabilitation.

1. Intraoral scan with bite registration at desired vertical 2. 3D-print model 3. Bend Adams clasps (0.8mm) and labial bow (0.7mm) 4. Wax anterior platform at prescribed vertical opening 5.
