The OASYS uses a hinged midline screw mechanism for gradual protrusive titration. An optional integrated nasal dilator component improves nasal airflow concurrently — making it uniquely suited for patients with combined OSA and nasal obstruction.
Components
• Upper Tray — Acrylic with integrated hinge • Lower Tray — Acrylic with midline screw receiver • Hinged Midline Screw — Allows gradual advancement with fine control • Optional Nasal Dilator — Integrated component to open nasal airways • Adjustment Key — For patient self-titration
How It Works
The hinged midline screw allows incremental mandibular advancement with fine control — more gradual than TAP but more adjustable than fixed-bar designs. The optional nasal dilator physically opens the nasal passages, addressing nasal obstruction that often coexists with OSA. Dual-action: airway opening + mandibular advancement.
Digital Workflow
1. Receive intraoral scans and protrusive bite 2. 3D-print working models 3. Wax up trays with hinge and screw mechanism 4. Flask and process with heat-cured PMMA 5. Install midline screw and hinge assembly 6. Attach nasal dilator (if ordered) 7. QC: Screw function, hinge movement, dilator attachment
Manufacturing Standard
• Acrylic: Heat-cured PMMA (ISO 20795-1) • Screw: Titanium or stainless steel, fine-pitch thread • Hinge: Reinforced acrylic or metal hinge • Nasal Dilator: Medical-grade silicone (optional) • QC: Screw function test, hinge articulation, dilator retention
