The Spring Retainer adds push springs (finger springs) to a standard Hawley base. It provides active retention plus minor tooth movement capability — ideal for correcting mild post-treatment relapse of 1-2mm.
Components
• Hawley Base + All standard Hawley components • Push Springs — 0.5-0.6mm SS finger springs on specific teeth • Helical Coils — 3mm ID for force delivery • Activation: Unwind coil 2-3mm for labial movement
How It Works
The push springs deliver light continuous forces (20-30g) to move individual teeth while the Hawley base retains the rest of the dentition. Springs are activated at delivery and reactivated at follow-up appointments as needed.
Digital Workflow
1. Standard Hawley fabrication 2. Bend push springs (0.5-0.6mm SS) for specific teeth 3. Position springs — coil at gingival level, arm contacting tooth at cervical third 4. Embed spring retentive arms in acrylic 5. QC: Spring position, force direction, coil integrity
Manufacturing Standard
• Spring Wire: 0.5-0.6mm ASTM F899 SS • Coil ID: 3mm, 2-3 coils • Force: 20-30g per spring • Activation: 2-3mm at delivery • All Hawley standards apply • QC: Spring force measurement, position verification
