Fixed Lingual Retainer

A Fixed Lingual Retainer uses multi-strand stainless steel wire bonded to the lingual surfaces of anterior teeth. It provides 24/7 permanent retention without patient compliance — the most reliable form of long-term retention.

• Multi-Strand Wire — 0.0175" or 0.0215" 3-strand or 6-strand SS • Bonded to Teeth — Composite resin at each tooth • Typical Span — Canine to canine (6 teeth) • No Acrylic — Wire only, bonded directly

The wire is bonded to each tooth in the span, creating a rigid or semi-rigid splint that prevents any individual tooth movement. Unlike removable retainers, it works 24/7 without patient compliance. Regular hygiene and professional monitoring are required.
