Essix C+ is the most basic in-house aligner system — using PETG sheets thermoformed over sequential stone or printed models. No proprietary software required. Best for very mild anterior crowding or spacing (≤3mm).
Components
• PETG Sheets — 0.75mm, thermoformed • Sequential Models — Stone or 3D-printed, manually staged • Simple Staging — Manual tooth movement planning • No Attachments or Elastics — Basic system only
How It Works
Sequential models are created with incremental tooth movements. PETG sheets are thermoformed over each model to create a series of aligners. Each aligner is worn for 1-2 weeks before progressing to the next stage. Simple, low-cost, but limited to very mild cases.
Digital Workflow
1. Receive scan or impression 2. Manual or basic digital staging — 0.25-0.33mm per stage 3. Print models for each stage 4. Thermoform PETG over each model 5. Trim and finish 6. QC: Stage sequence, aligner fit, edge quality
Manufacturing Standard
• Material: PETG, 0.75mm, thermoformed • Staging: Manual, 0.25-0.33mm per stage • Max total movement: 3mm • Indications: Mild anterior crowding/spacing only • Contraindications: Rotations >15°, extraction cases, Class II/III • QC: Per-stage fit verification, material clarity
